Trentham and Hanford- Cold caller advice and community updates

Good afternoon everyone,

Please find at the bottom of this e-mail the locations I have visited over the last two days. Towards the end of this e-mail are the dates, times and locations of the rest of this weeks Police Street Surgeries. There was an error on the previous e-mail regarding the time of the surgery for Wymondley Grove. which has been corrected below. 

So far this week I have completed surgeries at Turnhouse Road, Margaret Avenue and Stone Road. 

Yesterday I completed the 150th Police Street Surgery.

Cold Callers -No Cold Calling Zones

This week I have spoken to a resident who made myself aware that a cold caller attended their property, which was within a No Cold Calling Zone. The cold caller was polite and caused no issues, however they should not of been cold calling and should only have attended with a pre-booked appointment. 

I have passed the details of the company onto Trading Standards. 

If anyone should attend your property and you have any concerns, please do contact the Police either by calling 101 (non-emergency) or 999 in an emergency.

Reports to the Council – Potholes.

Over the last couple of days I have made reports to Highways regarding potholes at the following locations…

Meadow Lane -Junction with Chessington Cr (near to Earlsbrook Dr)

Meadow lane – junction with Chessington Cr

Chessington Cr – Junction with Hazeldene Rd 

New Inn Lane- Junction with Eastwick Cr

A34 Stone Rd 

Patrols

I have attended the path, which is alongside Pacific Rd that leads to the canal on both 23/02/26 and 24/02/26 due to recent reports of damage to fences at this location. Happy to report that I came across no issues and I will be re-visiting this location frequently in future patrols. 

School Parking

On 23/02/26 I was present at the end of the school day at the Priory CE Academy to say hello to everyone and to keep an eye on parking concerns raised around Ivy Grove and Jubilee Road. 

Parking - Mayne Street 

On the 23/02/26 and 24/02/26 I attended Mayne Street and spoke with drivers in relation to parking concerns, raised around vehicles blocking the pavement when visiting businesses in close proximity to Diarmid Rd. Thank you again to the businesses here who have been very supportive and understanding of the concerns raised. 

If you do visit the businesses here, please do not park as highlighted by the arrows in photo A, instead by parking as highlighted in photo B, this will help prevent obstructions to the pavement, making it safer for everyone - thank you.  

I have also attended Edward Ave, Briarbank Cl, Danehill Gr and Parkwood Ave to monitor any parking issues here. 

As previously raised to myself to monitor, on 23/02/26 I attended the woods off Oaktree Road and will continue to do so as much as I can.
